DIVINELY IRRESISTIBLE

“But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.” - Isaiah 66:2

In a recent short survey, majority (close to sixty percent) of quotations or posts on dedicated Christian WhatsApp platforms originate from unbelievers or advertisements while gospel posts and biblical quotations constitute about 20 percent. When compared to non-scriptural quotes, post on God’s words are rarely commented on. It appears men would rather elevate man’s words and quotations above God’s word.

The most important and yet the most ignored secret to God's heart is found in our today's key verse. People and nations suffer needlessly because they miss the irrestistible charm to attract God attention. Prayers are despised by God and remained unanswered because men despise the three most needful, irresistible trio secrets to God’s heart: the poor in the spirit, the contrite in heart and the one who trembles at God’s word. The soul that possesses these three qualities will be divinely irresistible because they are impossible to be ignored by God.

A poor in heart or spirit lacks anything to pride on. He is simply empty of earthly worthiness. The world is nothing to him. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3).

The contrite in spirit feel and express remorse for their wrong doings. They feel sorry, and seek pardon for every slight error. They are not arrogant or ashamed to accept guilt and seek pardon. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” (Psalms 51:17).

The one who trembles at God’s word, will see every word of God spoken as golden and bidding on him. He humbles at God’s word and feels apprehended by God’s chastising words even as he is excited by the same.

Beloved, if you seek God to pay attention to your prayers, your life and your ministry begin working on these three things. “The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” (Psalms 34:18). You may be like David who had committed immoralities and even shed innocent blood yet God immortalised him because despite being a king, rich in gold and silver, he was poor in the spirit and of a contrite heart. He was a man who would bury himself in ashes after listening to God’s word. Such a soul the Lord will not ignore. Be such an irrestistible soul!

Today’s Recite:  “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit." - Isaiah 56:15

Today’s Morning Prayers: Oh God I tremble at Your this morning. I seek Your mercy. Search my heart this day, and remove all traces of heady spirit and fill me with a contrite and poor spirit. Ask for Grace to embrace Your word at al times. Make me irresistible to your divine blessings in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
