IN AND OUT OF SEASON

“Whether it is pleasing or displeasing, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God to whom we send you, that it may be well with us when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.” - Jeremiah 42:6 (NKJV)

Daily life is no doubt filled with many activities, demands from the family, work and personal tasks calling your attention at the same time. Activities are often prioritised while some suffer from lack of attention. In the midst of this, mistakes and miscalculations are made and regrettable consequences ensue if we fail to do the right thing at the right time.

Of such tasks is obeying God's voice to save a soul: either yours or another. It is of paramount and eternal consequences, a matter of life and death and the one that touches the centre of the soul. Responding to a call to repentance from sin and conversion from darkness into the marvellous light of God cannot be later than now. While it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” (Hebrews 3:15). So, dear friend, obey God’s voice calling you to surrender all to Him now.

Have you already been saved, though it is inconvenient, you cannot watch others on the brim of eternal doom and be complacent or procrastinate about it, you must act. Our Lord said, “Say not ye, ‘There are yet four months... for they are white already to harvest (John 4:35). It is time to reach out to that colleague, neighbour and relations of yours with God’s message today.

Beloved, whether it is pleasing or displeasing, convenient or not; like Paul, see to it that necessity is laid before you today. For he said, “Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). It shall always be well with you when you obey God’s voice to “preach the word and be instant in season, out of season (2 Timothy 4:2).

Today’s Recite: “You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away”. - James 4:14

Today’s Morning Prayers: O God, I am sorry for procrastinating, and looking for a more convenient time that has never come. I receive Your grace and power now to obey Your voice. May it be well with me and all around me as I obey Your voice in Jesus' name! Amen!
