STRONGER AND STRONGER

The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. - Job 17:9

Life is full of many battles with adversities, oppositions and challengers of your godly heritage: both physical and spiritual. For every battle, strength is needed. Proverbs 24:10 says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” There is nowhere battles or adversities cannot be staged. Some wars are initiated out of jealousy or potential intimidation because of your rising physical or spiritual profile. As you grow in life ranks, enemies will also rise to resist. But for the righteous believers, God assures that you can only wax stronger and stronger.

Saul became a sworn enemy of David because the latter began to outshine the former despite the former being the crowned king. And “there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.” (2 Samuel 3:1). Adhering to godly principles which when applied in daily living, lays the foundation for a stronger spiritual life, helps you grow stronger in your faith to crush your enemies. Today’s devotion teaches us these biblical principles.

Firstly, love God (the foremost commandment). Prioritize love for God above everything else and dedicate time to this daily. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength..." (Luke 10:27). Secondly, know God by constantly reading His word. “But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32). Practise Humility: Denying Self-importance. Humility expressway to spiritual promotion. "Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Prayer is the Master’s key to crush the enemies. Practise Forgiveness which is pivotal to spiritual growth. Lastly, strive for righteousness and holiness by living in obedience to God's Word, “being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.” (2 Corinthians 10:6).

Beloved, the promise to grow stronger and stronger is for you. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33).

Today’s Recite:  He increased His people greatly and made them stronger than their enemies. - Psalms 105:24 (NKJV)

Today’s Morning Prayers: O Lord my God, I thank You because in You I am made stronger and stronger. Lord remove anything that can reduce my strength. I renounce any presumptuous, secret or besetting sin in my life. I receive Your mercy and grace to follow the path to be stronger and stronger than my enemies in Jesus' name. I pray that my adversities shall not triumph over me in Jesus' name!
