MAKE UP YOUR MIND, THE FLESH IS WEAK

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” - Mark 14:38.

 He planned to reach one soul for Christ a week but he couldn’t. She planned to wake up at night for a vigil but she was too weak and slept on. He has always wanted to be used greatly by God with signs and wonders. The Spirit says, “this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” but his flesh is too weak to deny the body of the little besetting sins and his belly would always call for food. Only a few hours to the fasting day, he would break and lose the opportunity for his breakthrough. Every day passes by without acquiring the much awaited power. She desires to pass her exams and graduate as top of her class but when it was time to study and burn the night candle, she is distracted by social media posts. One, and two hours are gone and she becomes exhausted and sleepy. Time is irrecoverably gone and the flesh is weak. 

The flesh comes from the dust of the earth, Though it holds great treasures and could withstand the weight of 8 billions people and all their properties, yet the earth benefits no one when not put to use. It was null and void until God unearthed its creative potentials. Everything we see and enjoy today comes from the earth. Its potentials are simply unlimited, and so are you. 

Your flesh holds the power to make things happen once it’s motivated. For matter of the spirit or of the physical, the cooperation of the flesh is indeed vital to succeed. The flesh must submit to the Spirit to excel spiritually. And so must the flesh be strong and agree with your mind to succeed in life.

 Alas! The flesh is weak. “…for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.” (Romans 7:18). For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.” (Galatians 5:17). 

Beloved, to watch and pray, your body must obey. Your heart is the control centre of the body. The mind must be fully, hundred percent made up to put the flesh under control. At 99% the flesh still has a chance to fail the spirit. Paul gave another secret, “I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” (1 Corinthians 9:27). You must make up your mind today on what you want the body to do and it will do it. Make up your mind to excel, your body will execute it; to watch and pray, not even the host of hell will stop you! Make up your mind today to breakthrough, everything around you shall obey.

Today’s Morning Prayers: Oh Lord my God, forgive me for failing You in the past because of my weak flesh. I receive grace for a strong and purposeful heart today. I put my flesh under subjection to the Spirit. My flesh shall obey the Holy Spirit henceforth. I make up my mind to succeed in all that I set my heart to achieve or be in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
