GOD'S ANGER AGAINST THE CURSE OF SIN

Bible Passage: Psalm 90:7-12

Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath. Psalms 90:11 (NKJV)

From the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is to say, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:45,46). This was how Christ died for our sins. How God's anger against sin was appeased. He sacrificed His life that you and me might not perish in hell but have everlasting life.

Sin carries eternal capital judgement (death) that can only be remitted by blood. Animal's blood could not dissuade God. A sinless blood, without any blemish, has to be sacrificed to appease the power of God’s anger against sin. Because Christ chose to carry the burden of the sin of all mankind, God’s wrath against sin wouldnt make Him spare His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ at such a moment.  “The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6).

Dear friend, the mystery of man’s redemptive work remains incomprehensible, yet, the manner of God’s anger against sin is impartial, not even to Himself! He has elevated His word above Himself. He said, “Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4). The soul that sins shall die, even if it is Him! Ah, God! You are just!  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. (Galatians 3:13). So it is not suprising to see God turn His face against Christ at the cross because of the curse of sin. And in a moment, Christ said, "it is finished! The task is accomplished and now you and me can claim freedom from sin.

Dear friend, there are two options before you today: you may continue in your sin and face God’s wrath, or you run to Christ now and be saved. I beseech you take the latter. And “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Roman 8:1). Amen!

Today’s Recite: Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1).

Today’s Morning Prayers:  Oh Lord God, I thank You for Jesus Christ who died for my sin. I cherish your sacrifice for me. Keep me away from sin and Your wrath in Jesus name. Amen!
