Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents (Matthew 25:16).
Have you ever thought that the first commandment of God to man was not the Ten Commandments handed to Israel through Moses? The Ten Commandment was written many centuries after creation. But before that, man was guided by constant instructions and commands from God as well as morals (that is principles of right and wrong). And the first of such instructions was “Be fruitful and multiply.”
Our God is God of multiplications. Everything He created were naturally made to multiply with little or no effort from man. And on this is where His blessings is guaranteed upon us. That little push is all that is required from you to be rich and wealthy. Or don’t you want to see your life mirror a grain of corn germinating to become hundreds, thousands and millions? The first command to obey is, “be fruitful and multiply”.
Our Lord Jesus Christ didn’t mince words when He based the kingdom of God on the principles of trading and profitability using many parables like the parable of the talents, parable of the sower etc. This projects God means business. Without multiplicity and profitability, man would have gone into extinct. Obedience to the first order has however kept and projected man to where he is today.
Beloved, God is not expecting any less from you. You are under both commandment and covenant of God to trade and profit. He has provided you with enough talents, gifts and resources to trade with. Your intellect, your skills or strength, your inheritance (like land), are parts of God given talents. No one is created without a gift or ability to trade with. All areas of your life is meant to multiply equally. As you grow physically, so must you increase financially and spiritually. God hates idleness and the unprofitable persons have no place or future in His kingdom. “And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:30). Does it appear business does not profit in your hands? You must be doing something wrong: wrong business, wrong place, wrong customers, or wrong attitude. As you step out today, push for a trade and promise yourself you are returning back in the evening with an increase.
Today’s Recite: “The LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the LORD will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers (Deuteronomy 30:9).
Today’s Morning Prayers: Oh God of multiplication and profitability, I thank You for the promise of increase on the work of my hands. I come to You for inspiration and insight to most profitable trade for me. Grant me enough resources and grace to trade and make profits in Jesus name. Amen!
