THE INEXPRESSIBLE JOY

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8)

Darren had been known for always wearing a sad look. Even with the most laughable jokes at school, he often kept a straight face. But one day, Darren was seen smiling down the walkway. It became an object of discussion among students. And someone asked him, “You look happy today, You won a lottery or what?” With a more smiling look, Dare said, “I am a new Dare. I’m born-again. Jesus is in me now!”

Darren is an example of a life Holy Spirit has worked upon. What makes Darren happy is the joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). Apostle Peter called this the “unspeakable joy”, inexpressible joy. It is the “fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22), evidence of a true conversion, and a mark of genuine salvation. This inexpressible joy overshadows sorrows, persecution, or tribulations. “Sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; ...exceeding joyful in all our tribulation” (2 Corinthians 6:10; 7:4). It is joy that transcends human comprehension. It is of eternal value to its possessor. It helps in our relationship with people. It brings calmness to every turbulence. It prolongs life. It heals. It brings out positivity in you. The joy of the holy Ghost energizes our spirit and helps us to bear the unbearable. “The joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).

Dear friend, wearing a depressed look, frown face, or sad look may connote that the joy of the Spirit is missing. Sin kills this joy. Satan also targets this joy. Are you unhappy? Are you having difficulty keep relationship or positivity? You need the Spirit’s joy to come alive in you. Are you a christian, still wearing a frown face? It may be that you have lost the joy of the Holy Ghost. Ether way, you can have this joy today by inviting Jesus Christ into you life.

Today’s Recite: In thy presence is fulness of joy: at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh Lord I thank You for a new day, and a new month. Work upon my heart this day and fill me with the joy of the Holy Ghost. May my life reflect the glory of heaven this month in Jesus name. Let every day bring good tidings my way in Jesus name. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: Rejoice In The Lord
