THY KINGDOM COME THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST OVER THE CHURCH

Everyone in Christ is empowered to overcome temptations and evil plots of the wicked one when Christ reigns within. The race to heaven has lots of milestones which Satan seeks to employ factors and pressing needs of the moment to lure believers to things that displease God. Self, carnal allurement and worldly influence are Satan’s effective tools. Jesus in the Scripture above , having overcome the Tempter alerts us to pray: “Lead us not into temptation!” This is because entering into temptation gives Satan the legal right to unleash terrible onslaughts on the saints. It is like an insect caught in the spider’s web! Hence, the Master’s stern warning in Mark 14:38, is that “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak“. To stand victorious all the time, this instruction is important no matter your spiritual height, status or title. Overconfidence is dangerous, therefore every conqueror in Christ must stay vigilant!
